Testimonials
“Rachel is a dynamo. She joined as a coordinator and was promoted to manager within two years. Very early in her tenure, I was thrilled to observe that Rachel was way better than I was at the core function of producing the SYC concerts. On top of that, Rachel offered her creativity and theatre background to create moments of joy and humor onstage.
I am most grateful and proud of Rachel’s signature contribution to SYC: the creation of the Singing Ambassadors program. She came in with a goal to advocate for the young voices we serve. She joined this commitment to my intention to build structures for youth voice and leadership across Strathmore’s programs and created this wonderful new initiative, where older members of SYC support and mentor younger members weekly in their rehearsals. In addition, ambassadors pitch new ideas to the team and have had the chance to implement several of them, including a move to Google Classroom and an end-of-season banquet. We will carry this unique program forward and hope to expand the model beyond SYC.”

“Not only did [she] help the kids grow as swimmers, but we also truly appreciated the way [she] held them accountable and encouraged them to be better people.”

“I cannot think of a student that has worked so hard and grown so much more than Rachel. As with any type of growth, there is pain and struggle, and though all of this, Rachel maintained a positive attitude and her positivity influenced all those around her. These qualities of hard work, perseverance, and a positive attitude will serve Rachel well. It's been a pleasure working with her and I look forward to see what she does after WCU.”
