Originally from Beltsville, Maryland, I grew up in the Prince George’s and Montgomery County school systems, first as a proud band kid on flute and piccolo, and then as a budding theatre kid who thought she was destined for stardom in a 5th-grade production of Midsummer Night’s Dream. High school is where theatre truly took hold. I started in Hair and Makeup design, and being cast in the Spring Musical lit the spark that led me to study theatre in college.

I graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where—though I focused on Musical Theatre—I had the freedom to explore every corner of the art form. I kept designing hair and makeup, unexpectedly fell in love with sound design during a 24-hour theatre event, and discovered how fulfilling it is to be the unseen force of stage management, guiding a production from the first conversation to closing night. I felt ready to take on the world of professional theatre until the Covid-19 pandemic hit two months before graduation. Suddenly, back in my childhood home, I had to reimagine the next chapter. In doing so, I discovered the depth and vibrancy of the DMV theatre scene, where I’ve been fortunate to kickstart the early foundation of my career.

I was still bouncing between sound and stage management, hoping to also get into arts education. In 2023, I was hired at Strathmore to work in production for the youth ensembles. I quickly saw the potential in the choral program and became their first full-time employee to achieve the collective goals and help reach that potential. Most recently, I achieved a core goal of mine when I founded the Singing Ambassadors Program. I wasn’t the best student in school and thought I didn’t like learning until I got to college and simply learned I didn’t like the way we were forced to learn. Since then, I have been invested in educational transformation through my work. I was inspired after learning about Roger Hart's Ladder of Youth Participation and started focusing on prioritizing the youth voice in the programs they participate in. I proposed the Singing Ambassadors Program as a youth initiative to give our most dedicated high school singers the chance to lead and leave a legacy on a program that shaped their growth. While I am no longer at Strathmore, the program lives on and hopes to expand to other educational programs within the organization with a long term goal of having a youth advisory board.

A Strathmore staff outing to the Planet Word museum unexpectedly reignited my love for sound design—the way it shapes a story without ever being seen. Since then, I’ve eagerly stepped back into the world of sound, looking to design for theatre and other storytelling experiences. So now, I am back to freelancing in hopes of getting back into the industry and prioritizing my sound design and music work.

Outside of the arts, I’ve spent over a decade coaching swim teams, having grown up as a competitive swimmer before theatre took center stage. I also love arranging flowers, exploring the DMV’s coffee shops and markets, and spending time with my friends.
